Job Description:
The Journey Level Counselor will supervise a staff of four Entry Level Counselors and will implement program activities during AM or PM program day.
Additional responsibilities shall include, but not limited to:
Facilitate structured process and subject matter groups
Participate in assessment and treatment planning
Continuing Care Planning/Re-Entry
Conduct one-on-one or group sessions with the program participants;
Maintain order in the family counseling sessions using conflict resolution skills;
Maintain the gender-responsive, trauma-informed environment/culture of the program.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be able to receive CDCR security clearance
High school diploma or GED
2 years experience working in a womens residential treatment program
Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor
Ability to receive clearance from the Department of Corrections.
Knowledge of group process, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
Strong reading, writing and communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate professional ethics, boundaries, and judgment.
Ability to work with a diverse population and maintain strong boundaries.
