Walden House is a fast-paced, multi-faceted organization. It has over 650 employees in over 150 job titles. The tradition of the therapeutic community is to hire its own, and much of our upper management still reflects this tradition. As Walden House has added programs, it has increasingly incorporated outside talent to its employee base. Today, we find a blend of the traditional "homegrown" employees and recruits from the greater community at all levels of employment.
In the early days, most clinicians learned through experience and example. Today, the ideal clinician benefits both from the wisdom of experience and formal education in the form of college degrees or drug and alcohol certification.
Walden House is similar to other organizations undergoing change or growth - the environment can seem at times chaotic. This is a time of great opportunity for clinicians at the paraprofessional, Masters, or Ph.D. levels to make a contribution and climb the ranks. Walden House is not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for a structured institution that is clear in bureaucracy and low in creativity, Walden House might not be right for you. However, if you wish to help build the plane while it is in the air and can handle the cutting edge, Walden House might be just the place for you!
