Since 1969, Walden House has grown from a local drug and alcohol treatment center to a national leader in the recovery field. Today’s Walden House reaches thousands of individuals each year, providing the challenges, focus, and compassion people need to change their lives and reach their full potential. This means housing, clothing, feeding, healing, teaching, engaging, and treating people in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and throughout California. Often, these people are among the most difficult to reach: the mentally ill, people with AIDS, the uninsured, the socio-economically disenfranchised, and the homeless.
